Creativity Meets Service: Creative Design Training for Digital Transformation in the Local Government

Digital Transformation in the Local Government

Digital transformation in the local government isn’t just about systems and automation—it’s also about creativity.

As part of our ongoing commitment to digital transformation in the local government, we recently engaged with our fellow city employees through hands-on trainings focused on creative design and freelancing. We chose tools that are both powerful and practical: Canva and Adobe Photoshop. These are the same tools being used by freelancers, content creators, and marketing professionals across industries—and now, by our own public servants.

Upskilling for the Modern Government Workplace

The sessions were more than just software tutorials. We focused on real use cases: designing effective presentation materials, creating social media content for government announcements, and producing visuals that enhance public communication.

We talked about visual identity, content clarity, and how design can help shape public trust. Most of the participants had never opened Photoshop before—but by the end of the workshop, they were creating layouts and posters with confidence.

These skills matter. As our services become more digital, so does the way we communicate them. This training was a step toward making sure our workforce is equipped—not just with technical know-how, but with creative confidence too.

Building Skills, Building Culture

What I loved most about this engagement was the energy. Employees came not just to learn but to explore. Some even asked how they could apply what they learned for freelance opportunities after hours.

This is what digital transformation in the local government should look like—skill-building that empowers not just operations, but people.

A Culture of Creativity and Growth

These trainings reminded us that innovation isn’t limited to developers or tech officers. It lives in every department that’s willing to learn something new.
We’ll be doing more of this. If you’re looking to bring creative capacity into your team, let’s connect.
